The world's largest Alpona was painted in Manik Mia Avenue on 14 April 2012 (1st Boishak,1419),which is the Bengali New Year.
About 200 artists participated in the painting and the group was led by some experienced artists like Kayum Chowdhury,Sishir Bhattacharjee,Rafikun Nabi, Nisar Hossain and Moniruzzaman.But when the alpona started the number of the artists exceed more than 3000.Many people participated in the painting.The total alpona was 350000 square feet.
Many people gathered to the place when the painting was being painted.The painting was drawn on a very busy road of the Capital of Bangladesh Dhaka.
